Patrick Blood
Director & Accredited Exercise Physiologist
- Background & Education: Originally from Ballarat, I completed my schooling at St Patrick’s College and played football for East Point before moving to Bendigo at 19. I fell in love with the region and completed both my Bachelor of Exercise Science and Master of Exercise Physiology at La Trobe University. My roots are firmly planted in regional Victoria, and I’ve always known this was where I wanted to build my career and community.
- The Journey: My path to founding PB Performance + Health started on the gym floor as a PT at the YMCA in Eaglehawk and Snap Fitness. From there, I transitioned into clinical practice at Kyabram District Health Services—a role I still hold fond memories of—before moving into private allied health in Bendigo. In 2023, I took the leap and started this business out of a small converted storage room. Two years of hard work later, we opened our own dedicated facility at 1-3 Weeroona Avenue, North Bendigo, and we haven’t looked back since.
- Professional Interests: I am a firm believer that exercise is medicine. My passion lies in the Exercise Physiology profession and its unique ability to bridge the gap between clinical rehab and peak performance. I love the challenge of taking a complex injury and turning it into a success story through movement.
- What Lights Me Up: Nothing beats the feeling of seeing a client reach a “big win” in their health or sport. Beyond the clinic floor, I am deeply driven by mentorship—helping our clinicians carve out their own career pathways and ensuring that regional students and athletes have access to the same elite-level rehab and sporting opportunities as those in the city.
Josh Nitschke
Accredited Exercise Physiologist / Strength and Conditioning Coach
- Background: I grew up in Kerang for most of my life before moving to Bendigo for university. I’ve proudly been a Bendigo local ever since!
- Education: I completed my studies at La Trobe University right here in Bendigo, graduating with a Bachelor of Exercise Science and a Master of Exercise Physiology.
- Professional Interests: While I enjoy the broad spectrum of practice, I am particularly passionate about the rehabilitation space. There is nothing more rewarding than taking a client from a place of uncertainty to feeling truly confident in their body again.
- What Lights Me Up: I live for the “lightbulb moments” during testing. Seeing a client’s face light up—or the look of total shock when they see their objective physical improvements on screen—truly makes my day.
Josh Hunter
Accredited Exercise Physiologist / Strength and Conditioning Coach
- Background: I grew up on a small farm in Dingwall, just outside of Kerang, with my parents and three siblings. I called the farm home until I made the move to Bendigo for my studies.
- Education: I completed both my Bachelor of Exercise Science and Master of Exercise Physiology at La Trobe University Bendigo. Expanding my toolkit, I also recently completed my Level 1 Strength and Conditioning coach accreditation—a space I am incredibly keen to explore further.
- Professional Interests: I have a strong interest in musculoskeletal rehabilitation, specifically focusing on ACL, knee, ankle, and shoulder injuries. I also find great fulfillment in assisting older patients in managing chronic cardiovascular, metabolic, and musculoskeletal conditions. For me, the best part of the job is connecting with patients and learning their unique stories.
- What Lights Me Up: Having faced my own injuries and setbacks, I am deeply passionate about supporting athletes and patients through their rehab journeys. Whether the goal is as simple as getting back into the garden or as intense as returning to high-level sport, being able to play a role in that recovery is something I find incredibly special.

- What Lights Me Up: I am fueled by seeing people reach their goals, whatever they may be, and the genuine joy that brings them. I love helping athletes understand the “why” behind high performance, giving them the tools to succeed, and creating a positive environment where they can develop a healthy relationship with the hard work required to excel.
Lachlan Price
Strength and Conditioning Coach
- Background: I grew up in Perth and spent the early part of my career in the West Australian sporting system.
- Education: I completed my Bachelor of Exercise Science at Curtin University before undertaking an Honours research year. During this time, I worked within the WAFL system coaching development football while launching my career in strength and conditioning.
- Professional Interests: My interests within S&C are broad, ranging from data analysis and training prescription to rehabilitation systems and the development of performance mindsets. I am particularly fascinated by how these areas intersect to collectively influence an athlete’s ceiling.
- What Lights Me Up: What drives me most is witnessing the long-term progression of an athlete. Much of my experience is in the youth development space, where I’ve had the opportunity to support athletes as they transition from raw talent into professional, resilient performers. Being part of that evolution—guiding both their physical and mental development—is incredibly rewarding.
